Vikings vs Dragons iOS game by our sister AE Interactive

Yesterday, our sister company AE Interactive rolled out its first iOS game Vikings VS Dragons!!

Game description
Vikings VS Dragons is a fusion of tower defense and arcade game modes, which makes it very engaging, entertaining and unique. The story takes place in prosperous Scandinavian lands where throngs of dragons commanded by Daurgothoth, the ancient evil dragon lich, search for eternal magic power and a source of immortality that runs through the veins of Vikings.

Play a heroic Viking, fortified in a lone tower on the kingdom’s coast. The objective of his duty is fairly simple, yet extremely challenging - defend the tower from more than 100 waves of terrifying dragon hordes reinforced by mythical sea creatures. The difficulty level escalates with every new wave, bringing along new types of deadly dragons and monsters craving for blood and devastation. The dragons’ fire blasts bring death and destruction to everything in their way, so it takes quick reflexes, sharp shooting and nerves of steel to stand one’s ground and to eliminate all enemies before they reach and smash the tower into burning ruins.

History of Circus

In Ancient Rome, the circus was a building for the exhibition of horse and chariot races, equestrian shows, staged battles, displays featuring trained animals, jugglers and acrobats. The circus of Rome is thought to have been influenced by the Greeks, with chariot racing and the exhibition of animals as traditional attractions. The Roman circus consisted of tiers of seats running parallel with the sides of the course, and forming a crescent around one of the ends. The lower seats were reserved for persons of rank; there were also various state boxes, e.g. for the giver of the games and his friends. In Ancient Rome the circus was the only public spectacle at which men and women were not separated.
The first circus in the city of Rome was the Circus Maximus, in the valley between the Palatine and Aventine hills. It was constructed during the monarchy and, at first, built completely from wood. After being rebuilt several times, the final version of the Circus Maximus could seat 250,000 people; it was built of stone and measured 400m in length and 90m in width.
For some time after the fall of Rome, Europe lacked a large and animal-rich circus. Itinerant showmen travelled the fairgrounds of Europe. Animal trainers and performers are thought to have exploited the nostalgia for the Roman circus, travelling between towns and performing at local fairs. Another possible link between the Roman and modern circus could have been bands of Gypsies who appeared in Europe in the 14th century and in Britain from the 15th century, bringing with them circus skills and trained animals.
Today, circus remains a very popular entertainment both for kids and adults. Among some of the most prominent circuses in the World are Cirque du Soleil, Big Apple Circus, Cirque d’Hiver and many others.
Now, kids have a chance to direct their own circus with Magikid Circus app! A huge selection of various stages, surroundings and characters! Interactive gameplay, realistic physics and vivid colors! Your kids will enjoy it!

Do It Yourself, kids crafts

Ram Toilet Paper Roll Craft
In this post we will tell you how to make this cute Ram on a picture above all by yourself! It is easy and fun!
So what you will need for this:
  • toilet paper roll
  • printer
  • something to color with
  • scissors
  • glue
  • paper
Here are simple step by step instructions:
  1. Print out the template of an animal of your choice, in this case it is a Ram
  2. Color (where appropriate) and cut out the template pieces
  3. Glue the large rectangular piece on first to cover the tube.  Toilet paper rolls come in different sizes, so if you find the rectangle is a bit too big, just trim it down.  If you find it's a bit too small, just cut out another small piece to fill in the gap
  4. Glue on the head
  5. Glue the arms near the top of the TP roll
  6. Glue the legs to bottom of the TP roll
  7. Fold the tail in half and glue so it looks colored on each side then fold tab and glue to the tp roll
Easy, fun and cute!

Interactive books for children

Interactive books for children is a type of books which encourage participation and interaction of the readers, directly engaging them into the the story line. Interactive books can range from kids' books with pictures and illustrations, video and motion pictures. Most interactive books for children can be used to help teach young children new concepts and ideas, as well as to develop their understanding of the principals and developing basic skills.

Interactive books offer a totally new experience, and appeal to kids much more, as children can not only read but also visualize the story looking at the screen of their device. The content of interactive book can also be enriched with relevant sounds, voices and music.

Magikid Umbrella is a great interactive book application about Fiona and her adventures in a rainy day. Follow the story and let your children discover what surrounding objects can be used to hide from rain when there is no umbrella.

Matching games

Below, I would like to introduce you a DIY Alphabet Matching Game for Kids of preschool age. The game is simple, yet fun and entertaining.
Snowmen are the main heroes and features of this game (drawn or printed, of course, you don’t need to wait till winter to play this game). The snowman has an upper case letter on his tummy and a lower case letter on his hat – there are a number of fonts and styles to choose from
What to do:  Print snowmen with a variety of letters and cut them out.  If you mix up the pieces you can let your child match the upper and lower case letters by putting the correct hat on the correct snowman.
You can also use the snowmen to sort consonants and vowels or to spell words.
Note:  If you laminate the template pieces, you can draw on them with white board marker or crayola washable markers and then wipe off the pieces when you’re done.  This is especially useful for the Standard Printing, Script Type Printing and Cursive tracer options.
If you are interested in matching games for your iPhone or iPad devices, check out our Magikid Train. It is a great application for kids of preschool age, to develop their matching and recognition skills. In this game children have to match colors, patterns, shapes and various objects in order to proceed through the levels. The difficulty increases with each new level, making the game very entertaining and thrilling.

Jigsaw Puzzle History

Jigsaw puzzles are believed to originate from England. The story takes us back to 1760, when a London mapmaker John Spilsbury, mounted a map on a sheet of hardwood and cut around the borders of countries. As a result, he created a great tool for geography learning, which was used as purely educational tool at schools of Britain until 1820.

In 1880's first picture jigsaw puzzles were introduced for kids entertainment. Later the wooden boards were replaced by cardboard. 1920's and 1930's are considered to be the Golden Era of puzzles, the period when first puzzle giants entered the market, offering colorful picture jigsaws .

Today, jigsaw puzzles remain very popular among children and their parents. Puzzles are believed to be a great tool to develop child's cognitive, and logical skills. They also help to learn to recognize colors, shapes and patterns. As we, at Magikid, care a lot about children's development and education, we created Magikid Train Puzzle App for kids of Kidergarten and Preschool ages. Magikid Puzzle is a colorful, fun and engaging way to develop your child!
